“Let’s make a movie. A movie we want to watch. A movie we would pay to see.” This is how you should be talking every time you sit down to make a video for your organization. Video is a powerful tool, but only when used correctly and shared with a targeted audience. People know within a few seconds whether you’re about to waste their time or tell them a story worth listening to. I’ve had the opportunity to make a wide variety of films and promotional videos for various companies. From the writer’s room to the director’s chair, I’ve held multiple creative positions in the filmmaking process. This means there are A LOT of videos to choose from, but instead of limiting your choices too much, I’ve provided descriptions for each below so YOU can choose what YOU want to watch.

Let’s start off simple. A bite-sized morsel gives a quick glimpse into what an organization does, who they help, and why it’s important. Got 30 seconds? Then this is the video for you.

“That must be such rewarding work.” Absolutely! Don’t take it from me though. Take a look at the recruitment video we did, where we interviewed staff and asked them about their experience working to help people with disabilities all throughout New Jersey.

Had a rough day? Looking for an inspirational story that will show you how an individual overcomes adversity to achieve their goals? Look no further. I had the privilege of interviewing an incredible woman who shows us how a little help can go a long way. (3:04)

Are you a fan of the arts? Have you been to a museum in the past year and enjoyed it because you weren’t dragged there by your significant other? Then Amazon might recommend you watch the video below. I would also personally recommend it, but I feel like Amazon has more clout than I do. Anyway, enjoy! (6:13)

Still on the arts train? Well, here’s a short artist spotlight to keep you going.

I made some commercials! Below you can find two of them. I can’t really say much else other than that. They’re fun and if you’re into commercials, this is the section for you. I came up with the concepts and wrote the copy. My creative life-mate Adam Tyree made them. He’s good like that. If you want to check out his work, head on over to adamtyree.com.

Are numbers “your thing?” Then you should check out the video below. We were challenged to make a video featuring our annual report numbers to showcase the impact this social service organization had on their community. We found a way to tie in the numbers with stories of those whom benefited from the services being provided. An example of how to turn cold numbers into warm representations of this organization’s work with the community of persons with disabilities. (4:41)

Okay. If you’ve made it this far… I not only admire your stamina and appreciation for all things “movie.” This means it’s time to move on to the hard stuff. Actual movies. I’ve made a number of short films, some have debuted in festivals or won awards, but I’ll let you be the judge. I’ve either written or produced the following shorts and enjoy the heck out of them. I hope you do too. (all directed by Adam Tyree)
